Roger CoombsTakes On Head Coaching Duty For Senior Mens.

Highland Rugby is pleased to announce Roger Coombs as the new
senior men’s head coach for the upcoming 2017 season.

Coombs comes to Highland with a wealth of knowledge having
coached professionally with the London Irish and London Welsh
teams.

His lengthy rugby resume has taken him all over the world,
from the Barbados National Team, local clubs in Nigeria and
Pakistan U19 Team. Canada seemed to be the next move for
Coombs and Highland is excited to be his Canadian ambassadors.

Speaking with the club’s senior men’s representative, Coombs has
said he is excited to take a new approach to grassroots rugby with a
focus on development from the ground up. Working on tactical
skills and team vision, he is looking to solidify the Highland rugby
culture within the community.

President Joe Bowley believes Coombs will be a great addition to
the Highland family with his new outlook on the program and his
passion to develop players from preseason to post season.

The Senior Men’s team has already started indoor training and will
move outside mid-April when the township opens the fields. All
players are welcome to the club, regardless of experience.
